This is the first in a short upcoming series of field recordings, or more simply put "Audio Postcards" about places that are dear to me.

Majestic and monumental the art-deco structure of the RC Harris Filtration Plant with its terraced wings, echoing courtyards, hidden machine rooms and miles of buried pipes truly is a perfect fusion of form + function.

Yet, despite its imposing scale, sprawling symmetries and planned purpose there is an eerie - intangible - quality shrouding the site. Something that cannot be contained by design, something that finds its way along halls and corridors.. and escapes through vents and hatches.

Its sound.

Around the buildings you can hear the raging roar of the turbines, droplets echoing in vast chambers, the splashing of water in a fountain's basin or waves lapping the surf below the walling by the lake...
